"I'd like to send a telegram please"
When you step into the Connected Earth gallery at Amberley, among the first things you will see is an old post office. From the 1870s to the mid- 1900s, one of the most popular ways to send a long-distance message was the telegram. A telegram worked like an e-mail or text message, but you went to a post office to send it, (or telephoned it in).
